What is Penn Hills Rotary?

About Us

The Rotary Club of Penn Hills was founded in 1947 and is a member of the Pittsburgh Rotary District 7305. Our diverse club, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2022, has a long standing history within the Penn Hills community. As a non-profit, our club includes Penn Hills residents, community leaders, business owners, and other professionals. We meet two times each month to plan and implement community service activities. And while our reach is global, it is intimately local. Our club’s goal is simple: Penn Hills Rotary members are devoted to improving the place we call home. The Rotary’s brand mantra “Transforming Lives Through Service” represents our hands-on commitment to change the world, one person, one family, one community, at a time.

Below is a just sampling of a few of the local projects in which we are involved:

  • Supporting literacy– Each year, Penn Hills Rotary purchases and donates dictionaries for every third grade student in the Penn Hills School District. Then, each Spring, we hold a spelling bee contest for the third grade class. To date, we have donated over 4,000 dictionaries!

  • Parks and recreation – We are proud to partner with the Municipality of Penn Hills to offer programming for local families. We assist in annual events such as Halloween in the Park, Penn Hills Light Up Night, and Breakfast with Santa.

  • Scholarships – Our club is proud of what our Penn Hills High School students accomplish, which is why we award scholarships to graduating seniors each year. In 2021, we were fortunate to distribute five $1,000 scholarships to very deserving students.

All of our programming is funded by Penn Hills Rotary. Throughout the year, our club holds fundraisers and events to raise money. Simply put: we raise money to give it away. Every dollar we raise benefits Penn Hills Rotary charities.

The Penn Hills community has been very supportive of our efforts over the years, and for that we are grateful. Our programming would not be possible without the generous support of the community. To see upcoming events, visit our events page, or to make a one-time monetary donation, click here.

Thank your for your support!

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
