Penn Hills Rotary Donates AED to Local Fire Department

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, Penn Hills Rotary met with representatives from Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Department  #224 (Point Breeze) to donate an A.E.D. (automated external defibrillator) that we purchased with the proceeds from our last fundraiser, Valentine Bingo. The device will be housed at their Universal Banquet Hall, used frequently for community gatherings and parties. This investment will help protect all who use this facility, including the many Rotary events held there.

A.E.D.’s are sophisticated yet easy-to-use medical devices which can help save those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. As the leading cause of death in the United States, more than 350,000 people will suffer sudden cardiac arrest this year, and an A.E.D. is currently the only way to restore regular heart rhythm. Penn Hills Rotary is proud to assist our friends at Penn Hills #4 with such an important purchase.
