Penn Hills Student Takes Second Place in Regional Spelling Bee

On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Vincent Olisa won second place at Rotary’s regional spelling bee in Seven Springs, PA. Vincent is a third grader at Penn Hills Elementary School, and represented the Penn Hills School District and Penn Hills Rotary at the competition. He was selected to compete after he won the Penn Hills spelling bee back in May. The yearly spelling bee is the culmination of Rotary’s annual third grade dictionary program. In the last 15 years, Penn Hills Rotary has donated 6,000 dictionaries to local classrooms. Congratulations to Vincent and his family!
