Annual Spelling Bee Hosted at Linton

In early May, Penn Hills Rotary hosted it’s annual third grade spelling be at Linton Middle School. Each third grade class from the elementary and charter school were represented. Congratulations to our winner, Damian!

The spelling bee is the culmination of the club’s annual dictionary program. The club purchases a dictionary for every third grader in the district (including private and charter students). The teachers use them as a teaching tool all year long, and hold classroom spelling bees. The winner from each classroom attends the Rotary spelling be. To date, Penn Hills Rotary has purchased and donated over 4k dictionaries as part of the program.

Thank you to the wonderful Penn Hills School District and Penn Hills Charter School staff members for making this possible. And of course, this night wouldn’t be a success without the support of all the families.
